New Member Orientation

The Chico Fab Lab New Member Orientation Packet, signed online. Read the whole thing — it covers the lab’s policies and expectations, plus the Release of Liability every member signs. Your gate/door keycode and WiFi details are handed out in person at orientation.

Chico Fab Lab is a nonprofit, member-driven creation facility meant to inspire innovation, collaboration, learning and fun! This packet describes basic rules and expectations for members and non-members of the lab. It is a living document and will change as membership grows and new ideas surface.

Personal Responsibility

Chico Fab Lab is based on a culture of personal responsibility. This means that everyone takes on the task of cleaning up after themselves and maintaining clear communication regarding their needs and intentions. If you break something, please report it. We watch out for each other as well. Always be kind. Keep the safety of others and yourself in mind at all times. If someone needs a hand, help them out. If you see a mess that someone left behind, take a minute and help clean it up. We take pride in a clean environment and a supportive community.

Lab Access & Hours

Members: 7:00 am to 12:00 midnight, 7 days a week.

Special Events: Chico Fab Lab may infrequently be closed to full member access during Special Events. Notice will be given beforehand in the reservation calendar.

  • Feel free to turn on lights, heaters, or ACs as needed. Please avoid wasting energy.

Cleaning Up:

  • If you fill a trash can more than half way, please empty it into the dumpster.
  • Put tools back where they belong.

Departing:
